Menopause relief is possible through self care. Diet is a good start when it comes to relieving some of the symptoms associated with this condition. If you are experiencing hot flashes and mood swings, you should avoid spicy, salty and sour foods such as chili, cayenne, vinegar and the black mustard seed. You should instead eat foods such as vegetables, milk, rice, wheat and pasta. For fruits, plums and pears are recommended. Spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, cumin seed and fennel are also helpful.
If you are experiencing symptoms such as vaginal dryness or memory loss, it is recommended that you eat cooked and warm foods that are low in fats. You can for example include cooked foods such as figs and prunes in your breakfast; they will help to cleanse your digestive system. You should however avoid processed, packaged, canned and frozen foods. You should also include whole grains in your diet but try to avoid cheese, yogurt and meat.
At least six servings of soy foods a day are also said to offer menopause relief. Soy and flavones are plant estrogens found in particularly soybeans and are said to offer short term relief. They can help relieve hot flashes and night sweats. The black cohosh is also said to offer short term relief. It is also said to relieve night sweats and hot flashes.
Some people also take primrose capsules to relieve menopausal symptoms. Other people also use primrose capsules to relieve breast pains as well as bladder symptoms. There is however no real evidence that these capsules work. Mild consistent exercise is also said to offer relief
